Antonio Gasalla was away from the activity since he fought against a disease that had forced him to depart from the stage. The previous week it had been discharged after being hospitalized for almost ten days due to severe pneumonia.
Together with other famous artists he had been a precursor to Café Concert, and he jumped to television, theater and cinema playing characters that left an indelible brand in the national humor.
Antonio Gasalla’s most memorable characters on Argentine TV
Antonio Gasalla proved to be a very versatile actor for the roles that he proposed throughout his career, but without doubt his vein for humor was the one that exploded and most paid him, about to turn him into an icon of the Argentine comedy.
Throughout his artistic career, he incorporated characters that became classics both in the cinema and in theater or television. It was an advance, with a head full of creativity to interpret some of the stereotypes of an era, although many of them still in force in society.

Most emblematic representations:
The grandmother: She was an older lady with little filter who was encouraged to ask the strangest questions. With that character he managed to get spicy statements to the diva of the phones Susana Giménez in the living room of his program. This character arose as a result of the remembered “Mama Cora”, from the movie “Waiting for the float” of 1978.
The teacher Noelia: She was a teacher who was willing to talk about everything. In 1996, he was already referring to sex education, something that at that time was almost not mentioned in schools.
The public employee: “Outside,” he was heard saying to this character every time a famous one approached him. He interpreted it in his programs and in the cycle of Susana Giménez.
Soledad Dolores Solari: She was a woman who was looking for work, but who was lonely and distant and had a strange relationship with her mother. With black wig, Morticia Addams style, this character was that of a fearful and quite quiet woman.
Bárbara Don´t Worry: This character was that of a quite lush television presenter, a lot of mouth, a lot of hair, many breasts. Very pompous and full of errors or furcios when expressing.
Yolanda: This character is that of a woman who makes everyone believe that she is invalid and takes advantage of it to ask all those around her favors.
