The Argentine Pizza will compete in two world competitions

For the first time, the Argentine pizza will have its own category in an international championship. The “Argentine Pizza Category” will debut in the 4th edition of the Spanish Pizzas Championship. The competition will take place in the Gourmets Hall. It will be held from April 7 to 10, 2025 in IFEMA Madrid.

The winner of the Argentine Pizza category will be nominated European champion and will be able to participate representing Europe in the next World Pizza and Empanity Championship that will be held in Buenos Aires.

Argentina will compete in the prestigious world pizza championship in Parma, Italy

The Pizzas and Empanadas Houses Association (APYCE), gathered a team of 12 Pizzeros Masters who will represent the country in the prestigious 32nd World Pizza Championship in Parma, Italy. In this case, the international gastronomic event will take place from April 8 to 10. The team will be led by chef and teacher Pizzero Federico Gastón Domínguez Fontán, a native of Bariloche.

He has experience in international hotel chains. He went through France, Spain and served for 10 years at the emblematic Hotel Llao Llao. Currently, he leads the development of seven pizzerias.

“Being the captain of this team is a unique opportunity to continue growing in the world of pizza and represent Argentina with the best professionals in the country,” said Domínguez Fontán.

The APyCE Argentine National Team will compete with more than 700 professionals from 52 countries in various categories.

The team is made up of: Roodely Antenor, Mauro Dávila Gasco, Javier Dotta, Walter Erdbecher, Daniel Gabrielli, Matías Antonio Iacono, Claudio Fabián Izurieta, Claudio César Jaramillo, Ezequiel Ortigoza, Ariel Hernán Pastorino, Ismael Saravia and Miguel Villalba.
