The police and public prosecutors assume that Anna R. died from no external fault. The investigation is therefore discontinued.

The death of Anna R. (1969-2025) at the age of 55 shaked the music world. Last Monday, the “sudden, unexpected end of life of our friend and ‘king: in'” was announced via her official Instagram channel. One was “shocked and deeply confused,” it said in the post. As has now become known, there is no external fault according to the investigation. The police and public prosecutors notify any details of the exact circumstances of death for “personal rights of personality law”.

This was confirmed by a spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office. Accordingly, the police initiated investigations after the musician was found dead on Sunday evening in Berlin-Friedrichshain. According to the authorities, the findings on site and the survey of the environment speak against an external fault and an autopsy of the body is not carried out. The body has been released for burial, the investigation was discontinued.

After the news about the death of the singer, numerous fans and her environment on social media said goodbye to Anna R., especially bandmate Peter Plate (57). “Anna, I will be missing,” he wrote. “My whole life, my years in Berlin – all of this was connected to you. Rosenstolz was one of the most beautiful times of my life. Rosenstolz, that was you and me. And now you are no longer there. I will miss you every second.”

Anna R. was born as Andrea Rosenbaum. Together with Peter Plate, she has been the pop duo Rosenstolz since 1991, which with hits like “Love is everything”, “It can be a start” and “I am” great success. Until their separation declared as a “break” in 2012, the two twelve studio albums released, five of which reached the top position of the German charts. The death of the singer was announced on March 17 on her official Instagram account.
