Chinese football player Jiaxuan Guo did not survive. The former FC Bayern talent died of the consequences of a bleeding of brain.
After a serious accident in early February, former FC Bavaria talent Guo Jiaxuan (18) died on Wednesday. Referring to a statement by Jiaxuan’s last club Beijing Guoan. “We lost a child who loved football. May Jiaxuan rest in peace!”
The 18-year-old had already been declared brain dead in mid-February after collapsing with a member of the opposing team on February 6 during a training game in Spain. The other player’s knee had hit his head, whereupon he lost consciousness.
The Chinese central defender Guo Jiaxuan was part of the squad of FC Bayern World Squad in 2023. With the project, the Munich Association has been promoting and supporting international U19 players in their dream of becoming professional footballers since 2021.
He had little chance of survival
Before his death, his brother wrote in the Chinese social network “Xiaohongshu”: “He is brain dead. (…) The doctor informed us that there was only a very low chance of survival that he is clinically dead due to lack of oxygen in the brain and that they will remove the tubes.”
According to the reports, the young football player was flown back to China after his accident. Experts are commissioned to analyze video material of the game. The Beijing Football Association announced: “We made all efforts to coordinate the medical resources for treatment and to meet the needs of its family as much as possible.”
