Aubrey Plaza and Jeff Baena: revealed new details about his tragic death
At the beginning of the year, Aubrey Plaza’s husband Jeff Baena committed suicide. Now further details came to the public.
Aubrey Plaza’s husband Jeff Baena committed suicide on January 3 of this year, the screenwriter and director was only 47 years old. Now further details about the tragedy have been published. An official report by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner should result, Plaza and Baena had been separated for several months at the time of death.
“Jeffrey Baena had been separated from his wife since September 2024 when she moved to New York,” says the document. It also says that after the separation, Baena made “disturbing comments” to Plaza after the separation. The actress in October “prompted the actress to call a friend so that he checked her husband’s well -being”. From the time of the separation, Baena was also in therapy.
The forensic medicine report also states that Plaza received a text message from her husband on the day of death. A little later the body of Baena was discovered in his house in Los Angeles.

Aubrey Plaza about Jeff Baena’s death: “an unimaginable tragedy”
Shortly after reporting from the death of her husband, Plaza had contacted the public with his family. In the statement she explained: “It is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported us. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
The couple got to know each other in 2011. The fans learned that the two had married ten years later in May 2021 when they described him in an Instagram posting as their “dear husband”.
