The presumably next Chancellor is two years older than Harald Schmidt. He knows from his own experience that you like to lie down during the day at this age.
Harald Schmidt (67) believes that Friedrich Merz could probably find his next job as a chancellor because of his advanced age of 69 years. “I think it’s good that he does the job, but I’m not imagining it,” said the TV entertainer to the interview podcast “Jung in Society”.
Merz is two years older than himself. “I like to penned at noon, even in the morning at 11th. If I now imagine that I would have to familiarize myself …” Chancellor is already a power job. “This whole back and forth flying. Jetlag, it wobbles in the machine. And I have to think about every half. Then I meet people who may meet for the first time: Who is exactly? Where does they come from? What does they want, they are not in the UN.”
Donald Trump proves that you can be fit enough for such a top job even in old age. The 78-year-old US President works fit and has performed a huge workload in the election campaign. “He talks to two hours,” said Schmidt. “In this giant country, crisscrossing back and forth, the different time zones. You have to be carved out of a wood.”
