Prince William visited the British troops on the second day of his Estonia trip. He completed the meeting in combat uniform.

As part of his solo trip to Estonia, Prince William (42) arrived at the Tampa Camp military base near the Russian border on Friday. On arrival, the British Royal showed itself in a combat uniform. He was greeted by the British troops stationed there.

The reason for his visit is a ceremony on the occasion of the six-month use of the Mercian regiment that replaces the Royal Dragoon Guards. With 900 British soldiers, Estonia currently belongs to the largest permanent international stationation in Great Britain.

A group photo of the military station was published on the occasion of the visit. Prince William’s words say: “I am proud to be colonel of the Mercian regiment, which is succeeding the Royal Dragoon Guards as part of the Operation Cabrit in Estonia. Their work alongside our Estonian partners and NATO allies strengthens the defense of the Eastern flank of Europe.”

For Prince William, the plan for the second day of his Estonian trip is a journey in a Challenger tank and an exercise on the trench war. In addition, the British heir to the throne meets members of Estonian troops, visits the welfare center and spends time with the non -duty soldiers.

“How is working with the British?”

On his arrival, according to British media reports, William talked to Estonian soldiers and interviewed them in a humorous way in the first six months of their training. “It’s great to get to know you and be here. How does the collaboration with the British work? Just because I am there, you don’t have to say anything nice!” Quotes him. According to the soldiers, their experiences are “good” and the cooperation “very successful”.

Prince William is already a military career: after studying at the Sandhurst military academy, he was trained as a army officer and, in the course of his work at the military, also completed an apprenticeship as a search and rescue helicopter pilot at the Royal Air Force, for which he served from 2010 to 2023. The 42 -year -old also has various military dignity – among other things he is the Honorary Colonel of the Welsh Guards (Honorary Colonel of the Welsh Garde).
