Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been among the regular guests of the Met Gala for years, but are supposed to skip the event in May.
Blake Lively (37) and Ryan Reynolds (48) are said to have decided to stay away from this year’s Met Gala on May 5. The couple have been one of the most popular guests in fashion night for years. But this year the actors will not walk over the Red Carpet, as a source, which is close to the couple, claims.
“Blake and Ryan will skip the gala this year,” said the informant. The lack of the Hollywood stars is not related to the current drama about Lively and her former co-star Justin Baldoni (41), as the insider emphasizes: “This has nothing to do with her legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, because the decision to forego the event in May was made long before the drama.” In addition, LIVELY and REYNOLDS did not take part in the event in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in recent years – so their absence is nothing unusual.
LIVELY makes headlines with a legal dispute
Most recently, Blake Lively, who, with her glamorous outfits, was actually considered an unofficial fashion queen of the Met Gala, especially caused a stir with the drama about her film “only once” (2024). At the end of last year, the actress submitted a complaint against her co-star and director Justin Baldoni. The accusation: Baldoni is said to have sexually harassed her and tried to damage her reputation with a campaign.
Baldoni himself denied the allegations and submitted a counter -complaint against Lively in January and other participants due to defamation. He is now calling for a compensation payment of $ 400 million. Since then, the headlines around the “only once” drama have not teared off. However, the actual court hearing is only scheduled for May 2026.
