Course for Princess Margriet: The Royal fell at an event in an ice rink and had to be taken to a clinic.
The 82-year-old Princess Margriet of the Netherlands had to be brought to a clinic on Sunday after a fall on the Thialf ice rink in Heerenveen. The incident occurred during their participation in the “de Hollandse 100” benefit event. In the ice skate event, funds for lymph cancer research are to be collected.
Princess was responsive
According to a spokesman for the organization, the princess was “transported to an examination” to the hospital and was available. A photographer present reported that the fall occurred during one of her last rounds.
Her son Prince Bernhard, who acts as chairman of the Lymph & Co-Foundation, was short of his mother shortly after the accident. The foundation is the driving force behind “de Hollandse 100”, a public event that is dedicated to the financing of research projects in the field of lymphatic cancer.
