Taylor Swift dives – what two friends have to do with it

Taylor Swift has noticeably reduced her public presence in the past few weeks and months, which triggers speculations about a personal crisis or even problems with her friend Travis Kelce at fans. After the end of the “Eras Tour” in December 2024, Swift treats itself to a well -deserved break. But her last public appearance at the Super Bowl brought an unusual experience: parts of the audience booed. In mid-March you saw the couple at a date evening in Park City, Utah, but that was a private moment, not a big public event. It also remained calm on Instagram. After a hundred days of absence, she returned on March 22, 2025 to praise the new song of her friend Selena Gomez, “I Said I Love You First” – a sign of life that gives little insight into her shielded life.

In fact, the reasons for their withdrawal should not be relationship problems with Kelce, but turbulence in the life of two close friends, at least the tabloid “Daily Mail” reports. What is meant are gossip girl star Blake Lively and Jaime King, known from “Hart of Dixie”. According to the newspaper, Swift’s withdrawal is intended: it does not want to be drawn deeper into the legal dispute between Lively and Justin Baldoni. Because it was mentioned in the process files, it should feel “used” by Lively, at least writes the “Daily Mail”.

Swift is even more affected by the problems of her friend Jaime King, whose son Leo Thames Swift accepted 2015 as a godchild. Jaime King and Taylor Swift met in 2014 at a Golden Globes party when Swift was in their notorious “Girl Squad” phase. Joint appearances on red carpets and Instagram posts showed their closeness. In 2015, King Swift asked to become the patentant of Leo, and Swift accepted the role – she called him “her boy” on Instagram. When Leo had to be operated on because of a heart disease shortly after his birth, Swift King stood up and supported the hospital with donations. After 2020, however, joint appearances became less common.

Jaime King experienced a “dirty” divorce from director Kyle Newman, followed by a bitter custody dispute. Newman attacked his ex-wife with severe allegations, but Swift never commented publicly-typical of her, because she keeps distance in such disputes in the circle of friends and does not want to take part.

Now King should be desperate: A few days ago she lost custody of her children. She can only see her sons under strict requirements. According to court documents, Newman accused her of being “chronically addicted to drugs and alcohol”, and claimed that she had consumed drugs and alcohol during pregnancy, which contributed to Leo’s heart defect. Former nannies supported these allegations. King’s past – she was dependent on the heroin and made a role after the death of her friend Davide Sorrenti in 1997 – also played a role. The court did not believe her, Newman gave her sole custody and committed King for a six-month drug and alcohol program with weekly tests.

SWIFT “Destroyed”, said an anonymous insider about the “Daily Mail”. He emphasizes: “Swift will always honor her role as a patentant of Leo, all hints that she has dropped Jaime or Leo.” The contact has become rarer because of the “Eras Tour”, but Swift feels “always love for Jaime”. In the song “Long Live”, Swift celebrated the value of long friendships: “Long live all the mountains that we have moved / I experienced the best time of my life when I fought with you against dragons.” Everything is going well with her boyfriend; Travis Kelce is at her side as “rock in the surf”. The couple wanted time for themselves, reduced public contacts – without tensions behind them.
