Peter Plate after Anna R.: Musical rehearsal stirs him to tears

Peter Plate (57), the former Rosenstolz colleague of singer Anna R. (1969-2025), has once again spoke up with a touching posting. Together with Ulf Leo Sommer, he took over the artistic direction of the Berlin “Stage Theater des Westens” in 2024 and is currently preparing the resumption of the play “Romeo & Julia – Love is everything” – in which the famous Rosenstolz -Hit “Love is everything is”.

On March 23rd, Plate posted that he wanted to say a very special thank you “my – our – great team from the theater of the West”. “We are in the middle of the rehearsals for ‘Romeo & Julia – love is everything’, and on Wednesday I was allowed to see the first run. Of course my tears ran.” But it also gave him “infinite strength” to see everyone again and hug in his arms. “And then to experience how you ‘love is everything’ sings … it almost torn me – and at the same time fulfilled so much.” He is now “infinitely” looking forward to the time with the ensemble. The musical is scheduled to start again on April 17th.

Plate has also set up a memorial place at the West Theater where fans had laid out many flowers and candles in the past few days.

Plate in his posting thanks to the supporters for their numerous condolences. “I can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful news. I try to read every single one. You write me the most beautiful stories and memories, tells of special moments – and send me the most touching photos.” All of this goes deep under his skin. “My heart digs up – but in the most beautiful way.”

The band Gleis 8, in which Anna R. sang after her time at Rosenstolz, also reported. “We reached a lot of loving news and we have seen many posts that showed us again what great importance Anna has for so many people with her music, commitment and all her being.” The musicians said that she had touched every message very much. As a result, they did not feel alone and in their grief. They are “infinitely grateful” for the many intensive years with the singer: “She has a home forever in our hearts.”

Anna R. was born as Andrea Rosenbaum. Together with Plate, from 1991 to 2012, she formed the pop duo rose stump, which with hits like “Love is everything”, “It can be a start” and “I am” great success. The death of the singer at the age of 55 was announced on March 17 on her official Instagram account. According to the investigation, there is no external negligence. The police and public prosecutors notify any details of the exact circumstances of death for “personal rights of personality law”.
