The imperator is dead: Clive Revill dies at the age of 94
The actor Clive Revill died at the age of 94. Among other things, he was known from the “Star Wars” series.
Clive Revill (1930-2025) is dead. The New Zealand actor died at the age of 94 ,. The drama veteran, born in Wellington, had dementia, his daughter Kate Revill explained to the US industry magazine. Accordingly, Revill died on March 11 in a care facility in Sherman Oaks, a district of Los Angeles.
Clive Revill: From Billy Wilder to “Star Wars”
During his long career, the actor and voice actor was part of countless film, series and video game productions. At the beginning of the 1950s, Revill gave his acting debut at the theater, followed by the first TV roles in the mid-50s. In the “Star Wars” classic “The Empire beats” from 1980, for example, he was heard in the English original language version as an imperator Palpatine. In addition to Palpatine, his speech roles included many characters from animation and cartoon productions such as “Ducktales- News from Entenhausen” and “Batman: The Animated Series”.

The changeable Revill also played in Billy Wilders (1906–2002) “The private life of the Sherlock Holmes” and “Avanti, Avanti” or in Mel Brooks’ (98) Comedies “Robin Hood – Heroes in Panty” and “Dracula – dead, but happy”. The actor also appeared in numerous well -known series, including “MacGyver”, “Babylon 5”, “Magnum”, “Murder is her hobby” and “spaceship Enterprise: the next century”.
Among other things, he received recognition for his achievements with nominations for two of the largest prices in the industry. Revill was twice for the Tony Award – for the musicals “Irma La Douce” and “Oliver!” – nominated, once with “Avanti, Avanti” for the Golden Globe.
