Surprising muse: Ed Sheeran thought of Rihanna when he wrote two of his big hits.
Without superstar Rihanna (37) there might not have existed two of the hits from Ed Sheeran (34) in its current form. The British singer has now indicated this. Both when writing “Shape of You” and the “Love Yourself” written for Justin Bieber (31) of him and Benny Blanco (37), he thought of Rihanna, in which “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.
Nobody has a better taste than Rihanna
“Rihanna has the best taste of everyone,” he explained moderator Jimmy Fallon (50). “She only really chooses really great songs.” As part of the songwriter community, you always write songs that you can pitch the singer. “Let’s try to write a song that we can suggest Rihanna,” he always thought in addition to the work on each of his albums.
Fallon noted that Rihanna was “like a muse” for Sheeran, which he confirmed. And he was also not the only one who was inspired by the 37-year-old. “I promise you that there will be so many songwriters out there, the best song of which is the attempt to write a Rihanna song,” he said.
Meanwhile, the multi -talent Rihanna has devoted itself to other things in recent years. The singer is also an entrepreneur and mother of two children. Her last studio album “Anti” has been published in 2016. In February, however, she revealed to work on new songs for years. “I just found out what I really want to do for my next work. I feel really very good,” said Rihanna. “I can’t put on anything mediocre. If you have waited eight years, you can just wait longer.”
