This means that the palace in the heart of London remains the residence of the monarch.
So far, the couple has lived in Clarence House, which is in close proximity to Buckingham Palace. So the move would not mean a big change, especially since the heir to the throne already has an office in the palace.
The decision is quite surprising: in recent years there has been speculation that Buckingham could only be used representatively in the future and be completely open to the public as a tourist attraction. But according to the report, Prince Charles believes the palace must remain the visible symbol of the monarchy and therefore also his home.
Prince William could fall to Windsor Castle
