15 months ago, Kiss played her supposedly last concert in New York. Even then, Gene Simmons was open to a back door. Now the band returns to the stage without the famous make-up.
The US Hardrockband Kiss (“I was Made for Loving You”) announced their comeback on stage around 15 months after the end of its “End of the Road” parties. The rock veterans want to give a concert at a fan event in Las Vegas in November. However, they will do without their famous make-up and the theatrical costumes.
Unclear about the tape line -up
On the official’s official website, an “Unmasked Electric Show” is talking about the two band founders and only permanent members Paul Stanley (vocals/guitar) and gene Simmons (vocals/bass) and some special guest. It was initially open whether the long -time drummer Eric Singer and the guitarist Tommy Thayer are involved.
Former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick is supposed to play his own show in Vegas. In addition, several tribute bands are to appear. The reason for the three-day event entitled “Kiss Army Storms Vegas” is the 50th anniversary of the “Kiss Army”, the band’s global fan community.
Not the first comeback after a farewell tour
As early as 1983, Stanley and Simmons were active with changing KISS line-ups until the original line-up came back together in 1996. Since then, Kiss has always appeared with her famous make-up and in her elaborate outfits.
In 2000 and 2001, the group had already completed a farewell tour, but returned in 2003. Before the supposedly last concert in the New York Madison Square Garden in December 2023, Gene Simmons had indicated that things could go on. “This will be the very last kiss appearance in the original make-up,” he said at the time.
Three-day tickets for over 900 euros
“Kiss Army Storms Vegas” will take place in the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas from November 14th to 16th. If you want to be there on all three days, you have to dig deep into your pocket. The cheapest package costs $ 999 (around 930 euros per person). Prices for the so-called “Ultimate Experience” with a top seating area at the concert and access to the sound check start at $ 4,909 (around 4,600 euros).
