Steffi Graf is one of the greatest tennis stars that have existed so far. It rarely reaches for the tennis racket. For this she and her husband have a new passion.
More than a quarter of a century ago, Steffi Grafs, 55, tennis shoes in the closet – especially in recent years, she has apparently no longer unpacked them too often. This is indicated by the German tennis legend. Graf, who has been married to the legendary tennis ace Andre Agassi, 54 since 2001, says: “Andre is still playing tennis, but I no longer.”
About two weeks ago, Graf showed himself again with tennis rackets. she posted several pictures on the court and wrote in English: “All the different feelings when returning to the square.” In one of the photos she laughs at the camera, on another she touches her forehead. Graf ended her incredible professional career in the summer of 1999.
A new passion from Steffi Graf
For some time now it has also been known that Graf and Agassi have discovered a new sport for themselves. The couple loves pickleball, a ball sport similar to tennis, which has become very popular, especially in recent years. “We really liked to learn a new sport during the pandemic and to meet new friends through pickleball,” continues Graf.
There is a special rule for the couple: “We don’t play against each other. We prefer to stand on the same side of the field.” According to the report, the two play at least three times a week. In February they won a pickleball event, in which the top tennis stars Andy Roddick, 42, and Eugenie Bouchard, 31, also took part.
