Venice piqued: are not overwhelmed with the Bezos wedding

Are three days Jeff-Bezos wedding party with hundreds of super-VIP guests (possibly even Donald Trump) too much for Venice? No, the lagoon city now claims.

The city administration of Venice has opposed rumors about the planned wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with his fiance Lauren Sánchez. “The many speculations and fake news about the wedding of Jeff Bezos lack any basis,” said the city administration. “Only 200 guests are invited, and that’s why it will be easy for Venice to accommodate such an event without disturbances for the city, its residents and guests.”

Venice “works for everyone”

The planners of the wedding scheduled at the end of June would not have booked “large quantities of gondolas or excessive figures on water taxis”, added the city administration. The aim is that the city “works normal and for everyone”.

Media had previously reported that the wedding between Bezos, one of the richest people in the world, and the journalist Sanchez will run over three days full of parties with 250 guests each. President Donald Trump may even be expected. The organizers of the wedding had already rented five hotels and a whole fleet of water taxis, as well as a berth for the super yacht of multi -illiator Bezos.

Events, larger than the Bezos wedding

This led to fears that the lagoon city, which already suffers from the large number of tourists, could be completely overloaded. The city administration now emphasized that Venice often issues international events that are “much larger” than the BESOS wedding, including the Venice Film Festival, great fashion shows or large corporate events.

With a mega yacht and giant decorative: Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez marry so

The marriage between the 61-year-old Bezos and the 55-year-old Sánchez is by no means the first celebrity wedding in Venice. As early as 2014, Hollywood star George Clooney and the lawyer Amal Alamuddin married in the Italian city, which attracted numerous paparazzi and fans.
