The British royal family celebrated Mother’s Day with nostalgic photos, including a special picture of the young Charles with Queen Elizabeth.

King Charles III. (75) and the British Royals recognized the Mother’s Day celebrated in Great Britain on Sunday, known as “mothering Sunday”, with an emotional social media post. The royal family was shared historical recordings that are reminiscent of the deceased mothers of the royal couple. “We wish all mothers and those who miss their mothers today,” is the message.

Nostalgic photos of Mother’s Day

One of the published recordings shows the young prince Charles – today’s king – together with his sister Princess Anne (74) and her mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). As can be seen from the picture description, the black and white photo of the Royal Windsor Horse Show from 1965. The Queen has leaned into its oldest son to show him something in a book.

The post also contains a photo of Rosalind Shand (1921-1994), the mother of Charles ‘Wife’ Wife Queen Camilla (77). According to the capacity, she holds her oldest grandson Tom Parker Bowles (50) as a baby, Camilla’s son from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles (85). Shand died in 1994 at the age of 72.

King Charles is healthy

The Mother’s Day post comes at a time that is challenging for King Charles. The monarch had to briefly to the hospital this week due to side effects of his cancer treatment, as the palace announced. He was then spotted again on Friday – according to “Daily Mail” on the way to his High -Grenm country residence, where he should recover over the weekend. From the car he waved a friendly waving at the same time. The 75-year-old cancer diagnosis became public at the beginning of last year.

His next big journey will take place in two weeks: from April 7th to April 10th, King Charles and Queen Camilla plan a state visit to Italy.
