A year ago, speculation overshadowed Mother’s Day at the Royals. A photo even triggered “categories”. A little later, the princess came to the public with an unexpected message.
White cliffs, dense forests and rocky heights: For British Mother’s Day this Sunday, Princess Kate focused on her love for nature. The 43-year-old shared a video on social media, which, in addition to spectacular nature shots, also shows her even when touching a tree and her husband Prince William (42) while walking over sand dunes with the dogs of the family.
Kate wrote: “Last year nature was our retreat. We have mother nature celebrated for Mother’s Day.” She also called on to recognize “how our connection to the natural world not only strengthens our inner, but also reminds us of the role we play in the rich network of life”. Mother’s Day will be celebrated in Germany this year on May 11th.
Last year there was talk of “category”
This year’s Mother’s Day in Great Britain is completely different for the Royals than last year. At that time, wild speculation over the state of health overshadowed Kates the festival.
After an operation in January, the Princess of Wales had no longer shown itself in public for weeks. But an attempted liberation with a photo that Kate and her children showed Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6) backfired.
Several renowned news agencies, including the German Press Agency, withdrew the photo because of suspicion of manipulation. The picture showed several discrepancies that pointed out to a subsequent processing. There was quickly talk of “category”.
Kate was ill with cancer
After initial silence, Kate finally spoke up via the short message service X. She experimented “how many amateur photographers occasionally with image processing” and apologized for any confusion that the picture had caused. From palace circles it was then said that it made small changes. Less than two weeks later, she announced that she was ill. In the meantime she has completed her chemotherapy.
