The history of a church in Texas has already swept the United States with its cinematographic representation.
In the middle of the crisis of Adoption in the United Statesa moving movie From 2024, which tells the powerful story of how a shepherd and his wife inspired his church and his people to help the smallest boys in the deepest and shocking ways.
He was born from the mind and heart of the writer and producer Rebekah Weigel and her husband, Joshua, who directed the feature film. Weigel said that the origins of the film date back to 2013, when the couple adopted two children and soon learned the incredible events that were developed in Possum Trot, Texas: how a church there adopted 77 children in a situation of greater need. As time passed, Weigel and Joshua felt forced to tell that story through cinema, a process that took eight years before the premiere in cinemas in July 2024.

What is the sound of hope
The film focuses on several stories, but the central characters are Bishop Wc Martin and his wife, Donna Martin, who led the adoptions and helped inspire their church along the way. Clearly that process was not easy, with the trauma of children, the difficulties and struggles of adoptive families, fully exhibited in the film.
The main story is that of a girl named Territhat does not trust anyone and you can’t even imagine that a family wants it. History shows some very painful realities that most of these boys face, such as a girl confused for her birthday cake with burning candles because they had never celebrated it or that of a baby scared to bathe because it was Malterated at home with hot water.
