With disarming openness, viral memes and profound roles, Pedro Pascal has conquered the hearts of fans and critics.
You can’t speak of a success overnight at Pedro Pascal. The Chilean-American actor worked out his success for two decades.
He gave his first ideas at the age of six – when he reported to his mother, a psychologist. “It was always a wonderful opportunity to imagine fantastic stories,” recalled Pascal in. However, his mother worried that her son preferred to live in his fantasy world than in reality.
He also worked as a waiter until the mid -30s
The concerns were not entirely unfounded. Up to the mid -30s, Pascal tried to stay ahead in New York as a waiter, while gastropolis in “Buffy” hanged to smaller roles in series such as “The Good Wife” and “Mentalist”. Which sometimes ran so bad that he and his beloved dog Greta died on cheesecake that they were given in a cafe near his apartment.
In 2014 the role that changed his life came. In the fourth season of “Game of Thrones”, Pascal suddenly stood as a hot -blooded prince Oberyn Martell in the brothel of Kings Landing, where he and his lover gave himself both men and women when he did not exactly take revenge. At that time, the series was on its audience record (which should increase significantly) and gave the likeable actor to his late breakthrough.
Hollywood’s favorite daddy
After he had put an unforgettable cruel death scene in the fantasy series, the main roles in the Star Wars series “The Mandalorian” and the computer game adaptation “The Last of Us” followed him. They not only brought him international recognition, but also made him Hollywood’s “Favourite Daddy”. The hype about Pascal as a tough and sensitive father figure culminated in iconic internet memes and expressions of love of fans around the world, who are increasingly longing for an older protector with heart during these times.
Everything has been different since then. Since 2018 he has been part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which awards the Oscars every year. In 2023 it was counted by the “Time” magazine among the 100 most influential people in the world. At the Emmy Awards in the same year, he was the first actor from Latin America to have ever been nominated three times in one year. In 2024 he played in Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II”. And the LGBTQ+scene also loves the actor who is regularly committed to her: in 2024 it was chosen as the hottest man of the year by the users of the Grindr dating app.
Ambiguous relationship to fame
The public and especially the Internet cannot get enough of the actor who slowly contested Keanu Reeves as the most likeable Hollywood star. In interviews, he admires the nails of journalists in detail, he speaks openly about his panic attacks on the red carpet and confesses to his curious daddy image
When asked about his sudden, great success, Pascal mostly tries to change the topic and prefers to focus on the headlight on his colleagues. He calls his relationship to fame “ambiguous” and compares him with the wish of a small child, for constant attention: “If you get attention, it doesn’t feel natural.”
In real life, the actor is not a father, in fact Pedro Pascal has only occurred as a single. “She was the love of my life,” he said solely about his dog Greta. And warns in one: “I can be quite decisive. I have to scrape my whole humanity together so as not to box through my film selection every evening.”
