Ex-President Barack Obama walked through the picture during a photo shoot in Washington. He later apologized to the family.
The famous cherry blossom in Washington DC attracts numerous visitors to the banks of the artificial reservoir Tidal Basin in the US capital every spring. Including the Portia Moore family, who actually only wanted to have professional family photos taken with their children. What started as an ordinary photo shoot ended with an unexpected star guest: Ex-President Barack Obama (63) suddenly walked through the picture unnoticed.
While photographer Briana Inell photographed the children Preston and Belle against the picturesque backdrop of the flowering landscape, Mama Moore was initially completely focused on her little son. At that moment she paid attention to her child that was only 20 months old so that it does not run into the water.
Obama unnoticed in the background
At that moment, her husband Damien tried to attract her attention. “My husband called: ‘This is Obama!’ I didn’t know what he said. It was only when she hugged her son and asked what he had said did the situation become aware of her. “This is Obama!” Repeated her husband. Then she hurried to the photographer with the question: “Do we have a photo?!” The photographer scroll through her recordings and confirmed: “We have it!”
The pictures show Obama with baseball cap as a relaxed stroll along the Tidal Basin – and became unintentionally a background motif for the family photos. Moore later shared and the 44th President of the United States even reacted personally. “Preston and Belle, I hope you enjoyed the cherry blossom! My fault that I went into the picture,” commented the former president of the United States.
He even divided Moore’s photo into his own Instagram stories and also published two own pictures of the cherry trees with the comment: “It is fun to be a tourist every now and then.” Photographer Inell was also enthusiastic: “Usually I work out all tourists out of the background of my customers, but this is a photo in which I will not cut out this person.”
Obama becomes part of the Christmas card
It is clear to the Moore family that this special photo will get a place of honor. When asked whether it would also end up on her Christmas card, Moore enthusiastically replied: “Oh my god. Hundred and hundred percent. I didn’t think about that yet. Yes, definitely!” If she could say something again Obama, she would have this message: “Come back to the photo shoot next year. The same time, same time, the same date. We will be there.”
