Ed Sheeran releases his new song “Azizam”, inspired by Persian culture. The title is particularly well received in the Iranian community.
Pop star Ed Sheeran inspires with his new song “Azizam” Iranians worldwide. The British singer had already presented the play in mid -March with a spontaneous performance in New Orleans. The 34-year-old officially published “Azizam”, Persian for “Darling”, this Friday.
The idea for the song came about in collaboration with the Swedish-Iranian producer Ilya Salmanzadeh, as Warner Music announced. “I love to learn more about music and different cultures, the more I travel and connect with people,” said Sheeran about the history of origin.
Iranians are enthusiastic
Iranians worldwide were enthusiastic about social networks. “I am Perser and my grandma sings it without interruption. Thank you Ed !!!”, commented a user under a YouTube teaser. “It means so much to see our culture and language reflected in your beautiful art,” wrote another user.
Spontaneous appearance at street concert
At a street concert in New Orleans, Sheeran had introduced the single with amplifier and microphone. The Grammy winner rose from a black SUV and said: “In a few weeks I have a new song that no one has heard,” quoted US media.
Sheeran (“Bad Habits”) is one of the most famous pop stars in the world. He sold more than 45 million albums and 150 million singles worldwide. This year the Brit also appears in Germany, with concerts in Stuttgart, Hamburg and Düsseldorf.
