In the far north of Norway, King Harald V’s granddaughter has been doing military service since the beginning of 2024. She gets a visit from her father for a final ceremony.
After 15 months in uniform, the Norwegian hereditary princess Ingrid Alexandra (21) successfully completed her military service. At a ceremony in the northern Norwegian military camp Skjold, the daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit (both 51) and 47 other conscripts of battalion chief Bjørn Kråkstad were attached to a bronze medal, as recordings of the Broadcasting station NRK showed.
Her father Haakon also came to inspect the Brigade Nord pioneering battalion, in which the princess as recruiter Alexandra has done her basic military service since January 2024. She will have her official last service day as a conscript on Friday. What the granddaughter of King Harald V (88) will do is not yet known.
