Both the space and the technical condition are no longer sufficient at the current location in Linz Anzengruberstraße, says Governor Thomas Stelzer (ÖVP). Therefore, in consultation with the coalition partner FPÖ, one has decided to move the Upper Austrian State Archives to the Bergheim Castle in Feldkirchen/Donau (Urfahr-Umgebung district). This will be released in autumn 2026 because the agricultural technical school is moved and merged with the Waizenkirchen location. According to the current status, the costs are estimated at 32 million euros.
