“Two measure and maybe a acid” – Lehmann in court

Bavaria’s former Prime Minister Günther Beckstein once said that after two beer you could still drive a car. Ex-national goalkeeper Jens Lehmann now has to notice in court: It’s not that easy.

Former soccer goalkeeper Jens Lehmann admitted to the court to have driven a car with alcohol in the blood after the Oktoberfest. “In the course of the evening I drank two beers, two measures, and maybe also a acidic one” – a beer with water, he said before the Munich District Court. “I drove because I was assuming that I could drive,” said the 55-year-old. “I made a mistake in this regard, which I also regret.”

“I don’t choke – and certainly not to two dimensions”

However, unlike the public prosecutor’s office, he was not drunk, had no symptoms, did not feel that he had stuck and did not have to choke like two police officers who took him in his car in Munich. He only had cough. “I don’t choke – and certainly not to two measures.” He says the truth, emphasized Lehmann: “I swear by my children.”

Lehmann was taken up by a police patrol on the night of September 23, 2024 after visiting the Oktoberfest because the officials noticed his driving style, as the indictment against him. According to the public prosecutor, he showed himself uncooperatively and showed “mood swings”. He had “a washed -out pronunciation” and “a leap -in thinking process”.

Lehmann according to investigators “irritated, aggressively, speaking”

His behavior had been “irritated, aggressive, speaking, unnecessary and repellent”. In addition, he repeatedly attacked a police officer on the way to taking blood. He rejected that: “I didn’t touch him because I alone find it unaesthetic.”

According to the public prosecutor, the control resulted in an alcohol value of 0.72 per thousand after a blood was taken. According to Lehmann’s lawyer, Lehmann should pay around 72,000 euros for the incident – for an offense that is in most cases an administrative offense and is punished with a payment of around 500 euros and two points in Flensburg.

It is not the first time that the former national goalkeeper and World Cup hero from 2006 is on trial. It was only last year that he was legally sentenced to finance due to property damage with a chainsaw on a neighboring property.
