Ellen Pompeo: Taylor Swift gave me the biggest check
As a long -time leading actress of “Grey’s Anatomy”, Ellen Pompeo has a special relationship with hospitals. For a children’s clinic donation she asked Taylor Swift for help – and was surprised.
US actress Ellen Pompeo (“Grey’s Anatomy”, “Good American Family”) raved about the generosity of superstar Taylor Swift. Although she only knew briefly, Swift issued her a check for a charitable purpose. “She knew me hardly more than 20 minutes and she gave me the biggest check without twitching with the eyelash,” said Pompeo in the “Jennifer Hudson Show”.
The money was therefore intended for a children’s hospital in Los Angeles, in which Pompeo and her husband Chris Ivery do volunteer work. “There is a great program there in which music is made for the babies on the newborn intensive care unit,” said the 55-year-old. Parents take up how they sing children’s songs and the music is played up to the babies if their parents cannot be there, said Pompeo.
For this program, the actress asked the pop star for a donation – and Taylor Swift complied with this. “She is a great woman,” said Pompeo. The two had only met when shooting the music video to Swift Song “Bad Blood” (2015). “She invited me to be in the video and I thought it was definitely fun,” the actress recalled. The shoot was running smoothly: “It was the easiest thing.”
