Actress Blake Lively wants to have a complaint from her co-star Justin Baldoni rejected against her. His lawyers face it: Lively’s allegations of sexual harassment are freely invented.
US actress Blake Lively (37) wants to have a defamation for her co-star Justin Baldoni (41) rejected-his lawyers clearly stand against it. According to the US specialist magazine “Variety”, the lawyers argue that they have invented their allegations of sexual harassment. Therefore, it cannot rely on a Californian law that protects people who raise such allegations from legal consequences.
Allegations: sexual harassment and defamation
According to the law from 2023, complaints against people who raise allegations for sexual harassment are only permitted if they are demonstrably wrong or are raised with “malicious intent”. The latter accused the actress of the actress: LIVELY either fully invented or exaggerated in order to take control of the film “only once” and save her reputation.
LIVELY (“Gossip Girl”) had shown her co-star Baldoni in December because of sexual harassment when shooting “only once” and accused him and the producer Jamey Heath in a lawsuit to destroy her reputation. Baldoni (“Jane the Virgin”), who also directed the film, reacted with a lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds (48).
Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman accused Lively in a statement to want to set a “dangerous precedent”. This could later also meet other US citizens who want to defend themselves against allegations. “Lively and her circle of Hollywood elites cannot stop my clients from using their constitutional right,” said Freedman according to “Variety”.
