The new owners of James Bond –Amazon MGM– Las Vegas visited to attend Cinemacon, the Annual Convention of Film Salas, to talk about the future of Agent 007.

Amazon and the control of the James Bond franchise
Bond’s big step forward was possible thanks to an agreement in February with the creative producers and teachers of James Bond, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoliwho renounced the control of the beloved spy franchise and delivered the reins to the new owners.
Amazon acquired the study in 2022 for 8,500 million dollars. This included all its intellectual property. However, the Bond franchise was unusual, since creatively remained domain of Wilson and Broccoli, who had refused to advance nothing new from the merger.
The electronic commerce giant disbursed additional one billion dollars to obtain creative control. As part of the agreement, Amazon and the producers formed a new joint company to manage Bond’s intellectual property rights, while Broccoli and Wilson remained co -owners of the franchise.
The most pressing unknown is still the new James Bond. Despite years of unbridled speculations about who could replace Daniel Craigthere have been no substantial news, although now it seems that that will have to change.
