Anne Will also speaks with top -class guests weekly. Just no longer on TV. The moderator about the pressure to discuss millions of audience – and what she prefers to do instead.
According to his own words, television star Anne wants to not be under so much pressure after the end of her talk show. Every Sunday she is happy that she doesn’t have to work, the moderator said at the NDR Talk Show.
Her ARD talk show “Anne Will” ended in 2023, now the 59-year-old runs the podcast “politics with Anne Will”. She is now designing her Sunday evenings differently. “Sometimes I’m in the cinema, sometimes I’m at home, but always free”.
“I don’t want to keep my pressure on me again and again”
The format podcast is so much easier than television, says Will. The “maybe four and a half million, five million viewers” of their Sunday evening talk show are “quite for their own ego (…), but at the same time it is always a pressure,” said the political talker.
This is also why she said goodbye to the talk show on television after 553 editions. At some point she said herself: “I don’t want to keep up with this pressure again and again, but I still want to lead in-depth, good politics interviews”. She is doing this in her podcast now.
