The star wanted to find out if an e-bike could replace a family’s car in the big city. And tested the Premio Evo 10 Lite from Pegasus in everyday life in Hamburg.

My family eats tons. We eat every other family under the table. My husband and I do large purchases for our family of five with three almost adult children at least twice a week. We plug tons of food into our refrigerators. Yes, majority.

For us, a lot of food also means that we do a lot of sport. Now my challenge: I combine these masses of purchases with movement for a few weeks. I don’t take the car for all paths, but the Pegasus e-bike.

Large saddlebags, robust driving feeling

So the most important thing about the bike is not the rolling property, the translation or a light metal handlebar. It is: the stable stand. So that it does not fall over, fully packed, in the narrow big city of crowd. I also need a robust driving feeling with huge saddlebags and must be able to complete the wheel. Zack, into business, zack, out. I don’t have any time.

The first impression of my divine horse: the Pegasus does it. It has a spoke lock, that works in no time. The width aluminum frame will not collapse under mountains of sliding cheese, Lyoner and pasta. But can I do it?

When driving to the supermarket, it becomes clear that the e-bike challenges little in terms of sport. Things I value, such as fitness, design – here the Pegasus does not fight for the yellow jersey of the Tour de France. Wouldn’t fit him anyway. Form Follow Function. Fine.

I pack my gray Haflinger with the purchases, a bag has to go to the handlebar. Top. I press the on-button on the handlebar and quickly gallop home to the refrigerators. Imagine a fully loaded pizza boats, front, back, top, top, pockets below, which hunt over crushed bike paths in the sunset. It’s me. It’s great in the big city prairie, I am faster in traffic than by car. If all e-bike lead and we only have the streets for ourselves!

For the trips to work or to the cinema, I put the saddle as high as possible and at least have the feeling that I was sitting on a slimmer thoroughbred. I don’t come up with the idea of ​​getting into the car. I am more flexible, I don’t find a parking space and good wind mood. On the back paths I do little things that I always push on Saturday. At the drugstore, favorite bakers, flower shops. I throw everything into the saddle bag at the back.

With the e-bike to the pizzeria

The shops empty, the refrigerators at home too. When the complete cold cut is missing from the dinner, I say to the family: “No problem, I quickly swing my high Pegasus-Ross.” This time I don’t feel like buying a big shopping. I mime the real pizza labot and quickly pick up five XXL pizzas from the Italian.
