Max Mutzke’s adventure in the land of dreams

“Sometimes you are forced to be forced or brought to your ideas,” says singer Max Mutzke when asked why he actually wrote a children’s book. A friend of your own psychologist encouraged him to bring out the stories that he tells his four children as a book in the evening.

Many parents feel the background of this self-made zu-bed stories: Mutzke was traveling a lot and often only came home in the evening. “This is such a life in which one wonders: What did I get children for if I am not there for them for them?”

In the evening, Mutzke often only had time for bringing the children into bed-which hurt him and did not want them. “It was totally stuck, because of course the children now want to stay awake when I’m there,” says the singer.

So he thought stories and played for the children to fall asleep. For example with the “ear bus” – sitting on Papa’s shoulders and guiding him on the ears – to go to bed or to meet him in a dream. The stories just have to get out of me, otherwise I will burst,” explains Rakers, who emphasizes not to work with ghostwriters, co-authors or editors. “It wouldn’t go well either, I would defend every single word with my life.”

The Judith in the book is only a secondary figure. The story is told from the perspective of the hangover Jack. “I find it much more charming because it also makes more eye level to the children. Adults who tell them how it works is already in the life of a child.”
