There are trends that not everyone has to understand them. Hang your own bike in the living room on the wall or under the ceiling is certainly one of them. How to do that.
Unfortunately, bicycles are still the most popular prey of long fingers. If you don’t have a garage and don’t want to park your bike in the basement, you almost only have one chance: the hit has to go to the booth. Sounds strange – but more and more cyclists are now making: inside. There they park it on the balcony or in a room, where it usually stands around in the way. Clearly smarter: hang the bike on the wall or blanket.
In this article, we explain in this article what you should consider, what options there are for ceiling and wall brackets for the bike and how you can make them yourself with some manual skill.
Wall bracket for the bike: three important questions before buying
Spontaneous purchases are a bad idea in the case of wall brackets for bicycle. Before you strike and pull out the drilling machine, a few questions should be clarified.
- How heavy is the wheel you want to hang out?
- How much space do you have on the wall where the bike should be placed later?
- Is the wall of your choice even suitable (keyword material)?
- What additional material do you need for assembly?
As a rule, it is retro bikes, racing bikes, fixies or other pieces of jewelry that are “exhibited” on the wall in the living or study. They usually do not weigh more than ten kilograms. Before buying, check whether the desired holder is designed for this weight. If you have any doubts as to whether the wall of the matter has grown, you use somewhat larger dowels and screws for safety. The same applies to bikes that are to be hung on the ceiling. And you should consider something else when choosing the right ceiling or wall bracket.
1. Fischer bicycle lift
It starts with a practical, space -saving and inexpensive solution for the garage. The Works like a cable. The wheel is fixed on the handlebar and the saddle with two hooks and then pulled up to the ceiling. The length of the rope should be sufficient for a ceiling height of up to four meters. The cable train has two advantages. The frame of the bike does not have anywhere and can therefore not be damaged or scratched. To do this, protect your back, because the bike does not have to be raised to hang it. And because it is not on the floor, they also protect the tires.
2. Hiplok Airlok bicycle bracket
It is more suitable for the hobby room in the apartment . It was made of steel and weighs a sporty five kilograms. According to the UVEX, the bracket is also designed for the outdoor area. If the airlok is attached to the wall and the wheel is attached, a 30-millimeter steel bolt secures the bike from thieves. The scope of delivery includes three coded keys with which the bolt is blocked. Uvex also provides the special screws and suitable dowels. In order to protect the frame, the area for hanging is coated with a rubberization.
3. MadeCo bicycle bracket “Flybike”
If you like it even more stylish, you should be over the ponder. The U-shaped body is made of solid beech layer. Depending on the furnishings, the cover sites are available in oak or dark walnut look. “Flybike” is available for handlebar widths of up to 50 centimeters and a little more expansion with up to 62 centimeters width. The hollows into which the bike is hung with the top tube can be individually lined with colored wool felt (from Germany). In order for the bike to stay on the wall, Torx screws, the right dowels and a drilling template are included. However, the two -wheeler shouldn’t be more than 20 kilograms.
4. Parax bike holder S-rack
A whole shelf serves with the As a recording for favorite bike. With handlebar widths of 50 to a maximum of 70 centimeters and seven optionally selectable colors, almost every wheel should fit and almost every taste is hit. The manufacturer specifies the maximum diameter for the top tube with 55 centimeters. After installation, this is softly embedded in a V-shaped notch lined with felt. A wooden floor is located in the black or white coated aluminum housing of the Parax, which is available in walnut, birch and other optics. The S-rack is 24 centimeters wide and, depending on the handlebar, protrudes between 30 and 40 centimeters into the room. Torx screws, dowels, windmates and drilling templates are included. Tip: racing bikes feel most comfortable in the narrow variant. Gravel and mountain bikes need a little more space.
