Royals in Rome: Charles and Camilla visit Italy

Great Britain’s King Charles III. And his wife Queen Camilla arrived for a state visit to Italy. The couple left the plane in Rome in the early evening, as the British television station Sky News reported. The Monarch (76) and his wife (77) want to visit the Italian capital and northern Ravenna by Thursday.
The trip coincides with the 20th wedding anniversary of the royal couple. Charles and Camilla had said yes in Windsor on April 9, 2005. For both it is the second marriage.
Charles was previously married to Princess Diana, the mother of his sons Prince William (42) and Prince Harry (40). The couple separated and Diana died in a car accident in Paris in 1997. Camilla was married to Andrew Parker Bowles and also has two children.
Meeting with the Pope must fail
Charles has been a British monarch for two and a half years. Over the course of his life, he was officially visiting Italy 17 times. This time he should speak in parliament, among other things, and meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. A state banquet is planned on Wednesday evening.
Pope Francis (88) actually wanted to meet Charles and Camilla. The visit to the Vatican was canceled because the head of the Catholic Church still has to recover. Francis had been in the hospital for weeks due to pneumonia.
Charles was also only because of the side effects of his cancer therapy for observation in the hospital, but was able to leave the clinic quickly. The palace had made it public more than a year ago that Charles was treated for an unspecified cancer.
