Duchess Meghan revealed in her new podcast that after the birth she suffered from one of her children to postpartal preeklampsia. It was scary.
Duchess Meghan’s new podcast “Confessions of a Female Founder” is online. The wife of Prince Harry exchanges with Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder of the dating app Bumble and close girlfriend of Meghan. In addition to insights into their respective experiences as founders of companies, it will also be very personal.
Duchess Meghan suffered from pregnancy from complication
Among other things, Meghan reveals in the almost 50-minute conversation with HERD that she suffered from postpartal preeklampsia. This is a serious illness that can occur after birth and must be treated immediately. The symptoms of pregnancy poisoning include high blood pressure, excess protein in the urine, severe headache and pain in the stomach. Most of the time, postpartum preeclampsia develops within 48 hours after childbirth.
It was “scary”, says Meghan. “And you are still trying to get everything under one roof and the public doesn’t know what happens in the background,” said the Duchess of Sussex.
Whitney Wolfe stove, which also suffered from Preeklampsie during pregnancy, emphasizes: “It’s really about life or death.” The BUMBLE founder is also impressed by Meghan’s strength after the birth of her son Archie (5) in 2019: “I will never forget the picture of you after you have gave birth to you and waited for the whole world for his debut. I only thought: ‘Oh my god, how does this woman manage to wear it and a child from the whole world?'”

The two also talk about how life as a mother and business woman can be combined. Meghan reveals that her three -year -old daughter Lilibet will be happy to interrupt her while working. “When she wakes up and looking for me, she knows where she can find me. Even if my office door is closed,” she explains. She then often sits on her lap during meetings. “I don’t want to have it otherwise. I don’t want to miss such moments,” admits the 43-year-old.
Duchess Meghan divides children’s photos for the podcast launch
For the launch of the podcast, Meghan posted three special photos from her childhood. “You can become an entrepreneur at a young age,” she wrote to a photo that she shows as a child with a pack of cookies in her hand. “By the way, all the years later and I still sell cookies!”
Duchess Meghan’s new podcast “Confessions of a Female Founder” comprises a total of eight episodes and is her second podcast after “Archetypes”. In the episodes, Meghan not only shares her own experience as a founder, including her new lifestyle brand “As ever”, but also has “inspiring” conversations with other founders who have developed “small ideas for successful companies”. Anyone who is guests in the other seven episodes is not yet known.
