Cannes premiere of “Mission: Impossible” with Tom Cruise

Three years after “Top Gun: Maverick”, Hollywood star Tom Cruise comes to Cannes again-this time probably with the last chapter of the “Mission: Impossible” saga. Cruise is expected for the premiere.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise brings the eighth part of the “Mission: Impossible” action series to the Cannes Film Festival. As the festival management announced on Tuesday, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” on May 14th is shown out of competition – one day after the official festival opening.

Cruise (62) is personally expected for the premiere, as is director and screenwriter Christopher Mcquarrie. The film is the end of the almost 30 years of agent saga around the character Ethan Hunt.

Last appearance in Cannes three years ago

Tom Cruise’s last appearance in Cannes was three years ago: in 2022 he ended up spectacularly by helicopter at the premiere of “Top Gun: Maverick” and was awarded an honorary palm.

“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” is one of the mostly expected blockbusters of the year. The 78th Festival de Cannes will take place from May 13th to 24th. The official selection of competitive films is to be announced on Thursday (April 10).
