Robbie Williams reveals that he recently suffered from psychological problems. His lifestyle also had a physical way.
Exciting months are waiting for Robbie Williams. The singer starts his tour on May 31 with a performance in Edinburgh. Stations follow in London, Manchester or Amsterdam before playing in Germany and playing in Gelsenkirchen, Hanover or Berlin, among others. “I want to make people happy and kidnap them to another place, if only for a few hours,” said the pop star about the shows. In the interview, the musician also revealed that there was no simple time behind him.
Robbie Williams: “Thought I was at the other end of the curve”
“The year started with psychological problems, which I haven’t had for a very long time,” said Williams. “I was sad, fearful and depressed.” As the British newspaper reports, the 51-year-old is said to have been confronted with depression for the first time in over ten years. In the meantime, the former Take-That member is supposed to be better.
The setback hit Williams deeply. “I thought I was at the other end of the curve,” he said. “I thought that was the end of my story and I would just walk into this wonderful wonderland. It was simply confusing that it then came back.” He did not feel the feeling that factors from the outside were to blame for it. “I couldn’t say: it is life or the tickets or the tour or pressure or whatever. None of it. It’s just like that. It’s just an omnipresent feeling.”
Rather, Williams suspects that his diet and taking appetizers could be responsible for the renewed psychological problems. “I stopped eating and no more nutrients got.” A vitamin C deficiency even caused the diagnosis of scurvy. When he changed his diet again, his mental health is said to have improved again.
Robbie Williams reported several times about his alcohol and drug problems in the course of his career. He also suffered from anxiety, depression, stage fright and weight problems. “The most important thing is that you are doing well yourself, and that I neither serve in my nor in the life of other chaos, as I did in the nineties and early 2000s,” reflects Williams today. “And if you are doing well, you can tackle everything that comes in your way.”
