Queen Camilla had chosen the special occasion for a green top dress by Fiona Clare, combining a turquoise diamond necklace that had heard her late mother Rosalind Shand (1921-1994). King Charles wore an elegant suit with a black fly and a British and Italian Order of Merit on the chest alongside other awards.
a four-course menu with vegetables, pasta with eggplant caponata, wolf bass in salt crust and ice cream cake with raspberries was served to the invited guests.
Wedding 20 years ago
The then Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles gave themselves the yes on April 9, 2005 – around 35 years after their first getting to know each other. The civil wedding took place in the town hall of Windsor, followed by a religious blessing in the Sankt Georgs chapel at Windsor Castle. Charles’ parents, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) and Prince Philip (1921-2021), only attended the service, but not the wedding ceremony.
The wedding was unusual for the British royal family in several ways: both partners were divorced, and their longstanding relationship had been the subject of public discussions for years. With the marriage, Camilla received the title of Duchess of Cornwall and was officially admitted to the royal family.
The royal couple will end his four -day visit to Italy on Thursday in the historic city of Ravenna. There, the 80th anniversary of the exemption of the province is recognized by Allied forces. Afterwards, Charles and Camilla go back home.
