Mrs. von Wezer-Bassist Scott Shriner: She was shot by police

A dramatic incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the Eagle Rock district in Los Angeles. The 51-year-old Jillian Shriner, wife of the Weezer bassist Scott Shriner (59), was shot in her own garden by Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). After the incident, she was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The incident occurred in the context of a large search after suspecting an accident escape on a nearby freeway. The California Highway Patrol had requested the support of the LAPD around 3:25 p.m. to grasp three fleeting people. According to police, the officials were led to a property of Waldo Place, where one of the suspects had been seen.

There they met Shriner, who stood in the garden of a neighboring property with a handgun pulled. If she is then said to have “directed the pistol on the officials and there was a shootout with the participation of civil servants”, as can be seen from a LAPD announcement. The police are said to have previously asked Shriners several times to put their gun, which she said to be reported. In 2023 she published the book “Behold the Monster: Facing America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer”, which is based on her interviews with the serial killer Samuel Little.

Jillian and Scott Shriner have been married since 2005 and have two children. The alternative rock band Weezer, consisting of front man Rivers Cuomo, drummer Patrick Wilson, guitarist Brian Bell and bassist Scott Shriner, is scheduled to appear at the coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival next Saturday.
