At the end of the 80s she became world famous, now there is a new vinyl edition of her debut album. In view of the Trump government, the musician (“Talkin ‘Bout a Revolution”) is worried.
The US singer Tracy Chapman is worried about her country. “It is worrying where we are,” said the 61-year-old of the German press agency with regard to the actions of the government of US President Donald Trump. “It feels terrible. But I also think that we shouldn’t lose hope, because there are people who have never lost hope, even if there was no reason to believe that changes were possible.”
Her goal is to “be a good citizen,” said Chapman – “and to do what I can do to get involved and change the world for the better”. The musician, born in Cleveland in Cleveland in Cleveland in 1988, became world famous with her debut album “Tracy Chapman” in 1988. She has just released a new edition on record of this.
The fact that the album is heard more than 35 years after the release of millions of fans worldwide triggers “mixed feelings” with her. “Of course, it is the dream of every songwriter to create something that retains its importance for many years.” On the other hand, the album deals a lot about problems such as poverty or racism that still exist. “This page of it is a disappointment for me.”
