Album charts: Zartmann is the chart man

He is the German music star of the hour: his EP “Schönhauser” sometimes comes melancholy, sometimes light -footed – and this week even beats Elton John and Brandi Carlile in the fight for first place.
Even superstar Elton John has to advance him: high -flyer Zartmann has conquered place in Germany with his EP “Schönhauser”.
“The Berliner becomes a chart man and leads the official German album charts for the first time, investigated by GfK Entertainment,” said the charts investigators. On the album is the number one hit “Tau me on” and also the collaboration “Let it go” (with Max Raabe).
Second place and also newcomers are Elton John and the US singer songwriter Brandi Carlile with “Who Believes in Angels?”. Third place goes to the rapper Jaceek (“Most Valuable Playa”), fourth place to sound tinkerer DJ Koze (“Music Can Hear Us”) and fifth place to the hip-hoper PA Sports (“Parham”).
The duo O’Bros, which connects modern hip-hop with Christian messages, meanwhile crashes-from first place in the previous week to 51st place. US musician Tracy Chapman made it into the charts again with the vinyl new edition of her debut album “Tracy Chapman” from 1988.
In the single charts there is another new number one: the rapper Jaceek impressively shot from zero to one with “Akon”. He replaces Zartmann before week (“Tau me”, now on two). Third place goes to Oimara’s party hit “Wackelkontakt”. This is followed by Alex Warren (“Ordinary”, previous week still third) and newcomers Nina Chuba (“unsafe”).
