“When we announced it for the first time, I thought we had the team ready for use in a few years,” said Beckham. We quadrupled everything with a single obligation – the difference is incredible,” enthused the 49 -year -old. Not only on the field, where the quality of the 37-year-old Argentine is obvious and younger players would learn from him, but also next to the lawn.
“Apart from the field – the interest we have experienced as a club worldwide, the numbers we record, the new stadium that we build, the new sponsors who are in contact and are interested – all of these things,” counted Beckham. “I hope he will never retire, but … we will be prepared for this day, and Leo will always be part of this club,” he assured. When asked when this could happen, he jokingly added: “Ten years would be nice.”
Beckham is particularly proud of youth work: “The academy is really worth it when I came to Miami for the first time,” he said. Everything starts at the base, and that is also the thing that is really important to him.
