Nicky Katt: “Boston Public” star died at the age of 54

The US actor Nicky Katt, best known in Germany from the “Boston Public” series and the coming-of-age film “Confusion-Summer of the Ferred”, is dead. This is unanimously reported by numerous US media, in reference to a statement by his friend and lawyer John Sloss. The exact cause of death has not yet been announced.

Katt obtained special awareness through his role of the Harry Senate in the successful series “Boston Public”, where he embodied a popular geology teacher. Born in South Dakota, Kat’s career began in childhood with smaller TV roles and appearances in famous movies such as “Gremlins – Kleine Monster”, “Sister Act” and “My Devilish neighbors”.

However, he celebrated his breakthrough as a thumb type Clint Bruno in Richard Linklater’s cult film “Confusion – Summer of the freaked out” (1993), where he was seen in addition to numerous stars such as Matthew McConaughey (55), Ben Affleck (52) and Milla Jovovich (49). In his career, well -known directors such as Steven Soderbergh (62), Christopher Nolan (54) or Robert Rodriguez (56) repeatedly worked.

His best-known film appearances also include roles in Hollywood blockbusters such as “Die Jury”, “Batman & Robin”, “Insomnia”, “The Dark Knigth”, “Sin City”, “Death Proof” or “School of Rock”. In recent years, however, it has become extremely quiet around the actor who held his last little cinema roll in “Bad Sitter” with Jonah Hill (41) in 2011. Katt could no longer gain a foothold in TV productions. He already had his last appearance in the comedy series “Casuel” in 2018.

So far, neither family nor former colleagues have publicly commented on his death.
