Singer Clairo brought political prominence to the stage at coachella: US senator Bernie Sanders addressed an appeal to the audience.
On the second day of this year of this year’s Coachella Festival, the California desert became a political stage: Indie-Pop singer Clairo (26), who appeared on Saturday evening on the “Outdoor Theater” days, was announced by a surprising guest-US senator and left-wing icon Bernie Sanders (83).
The 83-year-old, who had participated in a demonstration with more than 35,000 participants in Los Angeles during the day, and appealed to the young audience in typical Bernie manner to work for social justice, climate protection and universal health care. “This country faces major challenges and the future of America depends on your generation,” he said.
He then announced Clairo’s appearance in urgent words: “I am here because Clairo used her prominence to fight for women’s rights and to work against the brutal war in Gaza, where thousands of women and children are killed. I not only want to thank Clairo for playing in a great band, but also for the great work that she does.”
Charli XCX, Green Day and Travis Scott on the Main Stage
Day two had to offer in addition to political, also numerous musical highlights: Charli XCX (32) delivered an energetic set on the Main Stage and brought prominent guests such as Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish and Lorde. Green Day rocked the stage with classics such as “American Idiot” or “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”.
On the Sahara-Stage, the Berlin collective did not make an emotional music in the evening for a pulsating sound universe, while rapper Travis Scott (33) rounded off the second day of the festival as headliner on the main stage.

Numerous stars are mingling among the festival goers again this year. Among other things, Kylie Jenner (27) and Timothée Chalamet (29) were photographed hand in hand when they arrived and later at Charli XCX’s set. At the headliner appearance of Travis Scott, Justin and Hailey Bieber were later discovered together with Tate McRae and Kid Laroi.
