Chris Martin has several tools that help him with depression. The Coldplay singer reveals to his fans, whereupon he picks up.
Chris Martin (48) shared after a performance by his band Coldplay in Hong Kong. The singer talks about what helps him with depression. “Hello, here is Chris from the band Coldplay. We are in Hong Kong …”, he begins the clip, and then tells, among other things, that he was nervous in front of the concerts in the metropolis. He adds: “People were so nice. We have so much luck wherever we get there, so thank you.”
The music star then explains: “I have recently noticed that some people, including me, have to fight a little with depression.” He then lists what has helped him recently “on tour and in general” – in the hope that some of them could help others.
This helps Chris Martin
“The first thing I wanted to tell you is that there is a thing that is called Freeform Writing, in which you write all your thoughts for twelve minutes and then burn it. That is very good,” explains Martin. He also reveals in the video that “transcendental meditation” helps him. It is a mental technology that is practiced quietly with eyes closed in a comfortable seating position. The thought activity should be left behind.
Chris Martin also speaks of “proprioception” and explains: “This is a kind of body movement that should basically help to balance the brain.” According to his video, the “Costello Method” is also helpful for body awareness.
For Chris Martin, “The Music of Jon Hopkins for Psychedelic Therapy” is also one of his aids, just like a book called “The Oxygen Advantage” about breathing techniques, which he emphasizes.
In addition, the singer mentions the film “Sing Sing”, which he love. In the strip, Divine G (Colman Domingo) is detained in Sing Sing because of a crime he did not commit. He finds sense by playing in a theater group with other imprisoned men. And finally Chris Martin announced: “There is a new artist named Chloe Qisha. Her music makes me happy.”
At the end of the video he says: “Anyway, these are some of the things that help me to stay grateful and be happy. I hope you are fine and I am sending you a lot.”
Difficult time after the separation from Gwyneth Paltrow
Chris Martin already made public in 2016 that he was struggling with psychological problems. In an interview with the “Sunday Times” he spoke about a “year of depression” after his separation from Gwyneth Paltrow (52) 2014. The ex-couple, who married in 2003, has the two children Apple (20) and Moses (19). Martin is said to be in a relationship with actress Dakota Johnson (35) since 2017.
