Does she come or does she not come? For Celine Dion, who won for Switzerland at the 1988 Music Festival, there would always be room on the stage in Basel. But that’s not enough.

Almost four weeks before the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, it is still unclear whether Celine Dion will appear. The Canadian represented Switzerland in 1988, won and laid the foundation for her great career. The broadcaster left the question open when the celebrities who occur in the final week and at the opening show on May 11th.

Dion had expressed interest in participation, but it is seriously ill. She suffers from Stiff-Person syndrome with muscle cramps. Whether an appearance is possible should only be determined shortly before. For example, Dion sang at short notice at the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris.

It is clear that former Swiss participants of the ESC will sing for the opening on May 11th.
