Lauren Sánchez ‘trip to space: So everything had to work with the flight

The flight only took a few minutes, but the successful “NS-31 mission” by Jeff Bezos’ (61) space company Blue Origin caused a sensation on April 14th. The Amazon billionaire sent a six-member female crew with a “New Shepard” rocket to a about ten to eleven-minute flight towards space. Also on board as head of the “Mission”: Bezos’ fiance Lauren Sánchez (55). Apparently completely overwhelmed, after the successful landing, she also came to the upcoming wedding.

The spectacle was. After Bezos personally opened the hatch of the landed capsule, he directly put his fiance in his arms and gave her a kiss on her cheek. Sánchez was then asked for a short interview as the first of the six women. She was visibly moved.

When she saw her Jeff shortly before the start, the 55-year-old only thought “uff”. “I had to come back,” laughed Sánchez. “I mean we’ll get married.” If she hadn’t come back, that would have been a shame. The interviewer, the moderator Charissa Thompson (42), then told about a joke that Sánchez had made in front of the space adventure. “Jeff, if you don’t want to marry me, you don’t have to send me to space,” said the fiancee of Bezos.

In addition to Sánchez, pop star Katy Perry (40), the moderator Gayle King (70), the former NASA rocket researcher Aisha Bowe, film producer Kerianne Flynn and the scientist and activist Amanda Nguyen were also on board the capsule.

Bezos and Sánchez have been engaged since May 2023. As one of the richest people in the world, the Amazon founder will probably cost himself a lot. According to media reports from March, five luxury hotels in Venice and all the city’s water taxis are said to have been booked for the wedding. Shortly afterwards, however, there were opposing reports that many of the unsuccessful speculations about the wedding should be fake news. The big festival is said to rise from June 24th to 26th.
