Kevin Bacon remembers
Body while filming discovered
Kevin Bacon will probably never forget: During a night shooting, a body was suddenly found on the set of “Wild Things”.
Kevin Bacon (66) remembers a presumably shocking moment of his long acting career – when a body was found during the shooting of “Wild Things” (1998) on the set.
“Somehow significant for the mood of the film”
The actor is supposed to remember quotes from his films in a video. When it comes to a line of text in “Wild Things”, he cannot classify it properly. But he tells of a nightly shoot in the Everglades in Florida, in which the film crew discovered a real body.
“One night we were in the swamp – a lot of mosquitoes, wow – and we were shooting a scene, I no longer know what exactly it was on a kind of river,” he begins to report. “They drove out on a raft so that they could make light.” The crew members discovered the body. “Suddenly I hear about the radio: ‘Hey, I think I’ve just seen a water corpse’.” And it was actually a dead person. “It was somehow significant for the mood of the film,” summarizes Bacon with gallows humor.
Film shoot had to be interrupted
The director of the film, John McNaughton (75), spoke about the incident in 1998. The shooting of the scene in the swamp area had to be interrupted when the body suddenly drove in the water. The police were called and this prevented the body from swimming in front of the camera.
The film, co -produced by Bacon, is about the millionaire daughter Kelly (Denise Richards, 54) and Suzie (Neve Campbell, 51), who accuse the teacher Sam (Matt Dillon, 61). Sergeant Ray Duquette (Bacon) examines the case that develops differently than was initially expected.
