Music producer Ralph Siegel: He lost 36 kilos

“I feel really comfortable in my skin again,” reveals music producer and ESC legend Ralph Siegel (79). He has achieved an impressive success in the fight against his overweight: he has decreased 36 kilograms within just three months.

As Siegel explains in the interview, this enormous weight loss was not solely made by changing your diet. “I went down to 98 kilos from 134 kilos. I would not have done it with a change in diet,” admits the composer. For this reason, Siegel decided to support a weight loss injection.

His wife Laura, with whom he has been married since 2018, put the syringe every Sunday. “After a few days I already had eight kilos. And whenever I went back to the scales, she showed less weight. Of course there is a joy,” said Siegel. In the meantime, however, the composer has hired the weekly treatment, but is sticking to his adapted nutrition plan.

In addition to medication support, the music producer adapted his eating habits significantly. He got used to eating only half of his earlier portions because the drug creates a clear feeling of satiety. There are a lot of chicken and fish on the new menu, but little carbohydrates and fat.

Weight loss also has a very specific occasion for Siegel: he would like to give a good figure for the next performance of his musical “Zeppelin” in Füssen in October. At the last premiere of the piece, he still had to sit in a wheelchair because he was not doing well in terms of health.

The positive change is also noticeable in his wardrobe. “I have suits in four sizes: slim, normal, thick and impossible. I am just again slim. I never thought that I would get there again,” says Siegel.

Despite the success of weight loss, the composer still has to struggle with health problems. He now defeated the cancer four times. While his prostate cancer was recently healed thanks to a new therapy, the nerve disease still creates polyneuropathy. “But I have to live with that,” explains Siegel bravely.

Ralph Siegel has no concrete plans for his 80th birthday on September 30th. However, he admits that he prefers to invest his money in his musical productions.
