The “Tagesschau” gets a new face: Romy Hiller (43) will in future lead as a spokeswoman for the main edition of the ARD news program. The experienced journalist joins the team around Jens Riewa, Susanne Daubner, Julia-Niharika sen, Constantin Schreiber and Thorsten Schröder. Your premiere is planned for June 14 of this year, as the NDR announced on Tuesday.
From RTL to public service broadcasting
Hiller is already a well -known face for the audience. She has been moderating at “ARD-Aktuell” since 2018 and regularly leads through the “Tagesschau24”, the night editions and the 9 o’clock edition of the “Tagesschau”. Now follows the promotion to the main edition, which is pursued daily by around 9.6 million viewers and is therefore the most viewed news program on German television.
Hiller has a lot of experience. The journalist, born in Wismar and grew up in Kühlungsborn, began her television career in 2005 at RTL Nord. Until 2019 she worked as an author and correspondent for “RTL Aktuell” and N-TV from northern Germany and as a moderator for the regional program “RTL Nord”. In 2018 she moved to the NDR, initially as a presenter for the “Economy” department at “Tagesschau24” and as an author for the business editorial team.
